My sister swears that this is the pie that made her husband fall in love with her. And there is no doubt in my mind of the magical properties that accompany this pie. It’s like all the froth of a chocolate milkshake piled into a piecrust. It’s really amazing. It’s effects are strong, so be careful what you wish for.

This recipe was inspired by the movie Waitress. It's a must-see movie for foodies. It's about a waitress that invents amazing pies that are inspired by her life, such as "I Hate My Husband Pie" and "Baby Screaming Its Head Off In The Middle Of The Night And Ruining My Life Pie".

To make this gluten free, use a store-bought gluten free piecrust.

What makes this recipe enchanting:

  • A fluffy chocolate pudding mousse filling in a simple pie crust is pretty universally beloved

  • This is fantastic for summer barbecues, and also great as a Thanksgiving pie

  • If you have a kid or a teenager interested in cooking or baking, this is a great recipe for beginners!

Emmy's Falling In Love Pie:

  • 1 frozen pie crust

  • 1 (14-oz.) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 2/3 cup water

  • 1 pkg. cook-&-serve chocolate pudding mix

  • 1 oz. unsweetened chocolate (I used a little over an ounce of semisweet chocolate chips)

  • 1 pint whipping cream, whipped

Directions:

  1. In a large saucepan, combine condensed milk, water, and pudding mix. Add chocolate. Stir over medium heat until chocolate melts and mixture thickens. Remove from heat and beat until smooth. Let cool one hour. Fold in whipped cream, pour into pie crust. Let chill for 4 hours or until filling is set.
